Ouster of Yadav, a political game!

As the pressure on Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to quit mounts higher by every passing day, he is looking for various options at his disposal to salvage his position. Ever Since the Supreme Court disqualified those BSP MLA’s who had joined Mulayam’s government, the minister seems to have been passing scores of sleepless nights. The centre government has been bustling over talks of imposing President’s Rule in UP. Salman Khurshid, Congress Chief in UP, in favor of the step , contended that it was high time they resumed law and order in the state. He reiterated that since many innocent lives have been sacrifised so far, it was time the minister sacrifised his for the betterment of the people

While the clamor over Mulayam’s dismissal is getting louder and clearer, this act might not be replete with philanthropic overtones only. As BJP Chief in UP, Kesri Nath Tripathi says “”It’s all a political game. They may appear like enemies, but behind the scenes they are friends”, this step might have initiated in the light of the ongoing election season in UP. Moreover, with the recent price rise creating a havoc in the lives of the people, the imposition of President’s rule might give the party another six months to improve its stand at the polls.
