Another blast kills seven, this time in Guwahati

An high-magnitude bomb blast killed seven innocent lives and injured 18 people in Guwahati, Assam. The bomb exploded in the local market near a hospital in Athgaon area, Guwahati on Saturday. According to the district administration, the explosives were packed in a bag and hidden in a three-wheeler. The three-wheeler was parked in the crowded market in central Guwahati.
Till yet no one has taken any responsibility for the blast but the administration has given the indication that the banned militant outfit ULFA may be the guiding force behind the blast that killed seven people.
According to a police official, the state administration had prior information about the possible ULFA attack in any crowded areas. The blast occurred on the day ahead of state government’s completion of first year in the office.
After Hyderabad Mecca Masjid blast and the Gorakhpur serial blast, this was the third bomb attack in last 10 days in cities across India. The States have prior information about more possible bomb explosion, especially at the places of worship and its up to the state governments to tighten the security measure in the crowded places and near to places of worship.
