Apart from the loss of life, the massive flood is also taking a toll on the country with a total estimated loss of tens millions of dollars. The major cause of the ruin is no doubts the over flooding of rivers beyond the danger levels, but another prominent factor leading to devastation is the enormous amount of water discharged from neighboring country Nepal.

With a view to combat the situation, air force is already in action taking up relief operations in full swing, while a flood control room has also been set up by State chief minister Nitish Kumar, who has also promised to deploy his senior cabinet colleagues in the flood-hit districts to speed up rescue and relief operations.
