Violence escalate in J&K

Tempers run high in J&K over land transfer to the Amarnath Temple Trust, a subject that has drawn the attention the state which includes three people killed during fight on Monday. A Central Government Team at home arrives in J&K to make on the spot evaluation of the situation in order to brief the Prime Minister’s Office. The Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh held full discussions over the state of affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, where the public have been challenging curfews, army flag marches and police firing protesting vehemently to retransfer the land already allotted to the Amarnath Shrine Board immediately.
Protests in Jammu region have left seven citizens dead and several of them are wounded and life paralyses in the middle of curfews and shutdowns since the past few days. There seems to be no ending solution to this problem. According to sources in the administration, there is a deep concern on the issue over the common and local confrontation about the land dispute and continuing protest in Jammu and Kashmir taking places. The administration is concerned that, despite army being there the people were out on the streets and the mistaken impression being taken a shaped that it was meant to stop some important supplies to the Kashmir Valley.
